Tier 1 Emerging Players Doubles Pickleball Ladder is a pickleball ladder in Lake Park, Florida.
Doubles - Newer Players Division Tier 1
This is a 6-week doubles ladder that is scored individually with accumulated... points: 100 points for a win and 10 points for a loss.
The league plays doubles on Tuesday nights. Warm-up starts at 5:30 pm and all matches start at 6:00 pm. Please get there as soon as you can to insure play on your assigned court begins promptly.
After 3 weeks within the 6 weeks of the league there will be progression/relegation of players between the two tiers. In tier 1, the two players who scored the lowest will move down to tier 2. Vice-versa, the top two scoring players in tier 2 will move up to tier 1. There will be 8 players in each tier.
On each night there will be 2 sets of round-robin play with all the players on your assigned court (assigned from the scores of the previous week). That means there are no set teams, you will play with each of the other 3 players on the court.
After each of the two round-robin sets, there will be a progression-relegation of players to lower or higher courts. For instance, with 2 full courts in play for your tier, court 2's highest-scoring player will advance to court 1 and court 1's lowest-scoring player moving down to court 2. Therefore, each night in a tier of 8 players, each player should play 6 games.
There will be 2 sets of 3 weeks of play for a total of 6 weeks, in each set of 3 weeks, only your top two scoring weeks will count towards your cumulative score, which also means you can technically miss 1 week of each of the 3-week sets, as long as you provide a substitute who will just play for fun and not count scores for them or you. Providing a substitute is ALWAYS REQUIRED so that we will always have all 8 courts full. I can assist in finding substitutes and will also provide a list of people on here that are wiling/able to play, with notice.
If you miss more than one week in a 3 week set, you will be given your average score of that 3 week set minus 10 points for the second missed night. If you miss all 3 weeks in a 3 week set, you will receive no points for that 3 week set.
At the end of the league the top 3 scoring players in this tier will receive ??? prizes.
The winning team in doubles is always responsible for submitting scores on paper/board and on GPN, the winning team will lose one point for every match that is not submitted.
