Pickleball Ladder Menu
1- 2023 - Spring Ladder (March 20th-May 28th) is a pickleball ladder in Indian Land, South Carolina. 10 Week Ladder. The format of play is designed so that players play mostly with others of similar skill levels. Your... ranking on a ladder is based Elo Rating. Goal is to have more competitive matches and reach the top of the ladder during the 10 weeks of play. Ladder format: 1- First week position in ladder is random (all skills will play each other). 2- Every Monday an event will be sent to all ladder members. Members have until Tuesday end of day to RSVP to the event. Those that RSVP'd will be assigned a group of 4-5 players based on week’s position in ladder (i.e. 1,2,3,4 will play together, 5,6,7,8, etc. if one player does not RSVP, then that player will be skipped and next player will be placed in group, for example if player 6 does not RSVP, then 5,7,8,9 will play together). The players that did not RSVP and were not scheduled a group, will lose 20 points that week (might drop positions in the ladder). 3- Groups do not need to play on day of event, they can play any day they want from Wednesday through Sunday. However, must ensure the 3-4 games are played in one day (if groups of 4, there will be 3 games to 11 rotating partners/opponents each game. If group of 5, 4 games to 11 will be played rotating partners each game). Players must contact their group and schedule their matches between themselves (WhatsApp group will be created to keep open communication regarding league play). 4- Players from each group that have the best Elo Rating will move up the ladder (playing with a different group following week), player with lowest Elo Rating will move down the ladder (playing with a different group the following week). 5- Players must submit their scores immediately after each game. Please only submit scores for games pertinent to this ladder play and not rec play. We will train on how to submit ladder scores on GPN website if needed. 6- If player misses one week, as noted above, position in ladder will change due to points penalty (20 points if one week is missed). or change minimally, if absent for 3 straight weeks, player will be marked as inactive. Players that join the ladder league after ladder has already started will be placed last on list (Elo rating will manually be 20 points lower than the lowest ranking player) and will need to work their way up the ladder during remaining ladder weeks.
