3 - 2023 - Fall Ladder (Sept 11th-November 4th) is a pickleball ladder in Indian Land, South Carolina. 8 Week Ladder. The format of play is designed so that players play mostly with others of similar skill levels. Your... ranking on a ladder is based a Custom Rating. Goal is to have more competitive matches and reach the top of the ladder during the 8 weeks of play. Ladder format: July-August Ladder Format 1- Each Friday poll will be sent via WhatsApp to confirm following week’s ladder participation, expectation is to send on Sunday the groups to play. First week groups will be in same order as they ended in previous ladder league season. New players for this season will be in last positions. 2- Active players for the week will be divided in groups of 4-5 players. If 4 players, 3 games to be played up to 15 points, win by 2. Scores will be recorded as 15-14 if extended play was needed to win the match (i.e 16-14, 17-15, etc.). If 5 players in group, 4 games will be played up to 11 points, win by 2. Scores will be recorded as 11-10 if extended play was needed to win the match (i.e 12-10, 13-11, etc.). 3- Players will win 1 point for each game won and 1 point for each point scored against opponent (max score is 48 per week, 45 points per game via points plus 3 points for games if playing 3 games, 44 points per game via points and 4 points for games if playing 4 games). All players will start with 500 points. 4- Players will not lose points per week, for each week not played in ladder. Players will not earn any points if not played. 5- Players that join the ladder after week 1 will start with 500 points. 6- Ladder will extend for 8 weeks. 7- Ladder week 9 will be used to play quarter final matches (best 3 of 5 games to 11 points each, win by 2), total 4 matches (8 teams, 16 players). 8- Ladder week 10 will be used to play semifinal matches (best 3 of 5 games to 11 points each, win by 2), total 2 matches (4 teams, 8 players). 9- Ladder week 11 will be used to play final match (best 3 of 5 games to 11 points each, win by 2). 10- Playoff teams will be selected by the top 8 players picking their partner from the bottom 8 (from the top 16). 1st player has the first pick, 2nd player has the second pick, … , 8th player has the 16th pick (i.e player 1 can pick seed 9th through seed 16th as his partner). 11- Players that play less then 5 weeks of the ladder will not be eligible for playoffs. In this case each seed will move up and seed 17th will take seed 16th’s spot (if played 6 or more weeks of ladder). Show more Show less
