Advanced Play at Tornado

This session is for Upper Intermediate 3.75 DUPR play and above. The intention is to give players of this level an opportunity to further level up. Players of this level are given first dibs on spots. Remaining places are available to players in the Browns Bay Competitive Group, who can also join the waitlist.

Please note that play is at a 3.75 DUPR level so please only put your name down if you have the skills (or are developing them) and experience to be able to play with control, have a range of shots, be able to avoid unnecessary pop-ups and take advantage of put aways to be able to contribute to this session. You’ll need a fair understanding of strategy to contribute and play.

This session will be played at Tornado Table Tennis in Glenfield. Their 2 courts are a little bit tighter than Browns Bay, but very playable. The ceiling is low, high lobs are out. The lighting is excellent. The floor is different from anything at any other venues - it seems to be a surface for Table Tennis and it plays well with a good quality ball. The bounce is consistent and as the surface is a little rubbery, it is good on the knees. There is loads of parking and being off Diana Drive it is close to the Tristam Ave motorway off ramp. Yes – there are better venues out there, but it rare to find regular availability in the evenings.
