Slick Pickle Players Club

Network of players from Southeast Michigan / Detroit Suburbs established to create skill-matched games through long-term ladder leagues and other special events at various locations around Wayne and Oakland County (such as Commerce Richardson Center, Livonia Bicentennial Park, Northville Community Center/Hillside). To insure a focus on camaraderie, mutual improvement and mastery of the game, membership is by invitation only, and good sportsmanship / positive vibes are requested.

What is it all about?

The goal of Slick Pickle is to provide a community of players an opportunity to play together in a statistically managed format where individual performance is captured in relation to peer performance, giving members a chance to move up or down the ranking system by recording scores against other club members.

Do I need a DUPR / UTR-P rating?

NO! Definitely not.  This format is actually designed to take that "rating" completely out of the equation.  The invitational nature of the club means that you have been identified as already possessing a quality game, and the potential to move up or down the ladder based purely on performance on the court.

What kind of events will be offered?

Ladder league  --  High intermediate to advanced

Ladder league  --  Recreational/social

Tournaments  --  various to be proposed by club members

What do I have to do to participate?

The only thing the club asks is to play at least one ladder league game per month in order to keep an active status.  We realize that life happens, so if you need some time off from the club, just let us know of your "inactive" status, and we'll welcome you back at any time.  The number one thing we have to stress is to stick to any committed scheduled games as a courtesy to other club members.  No call/no show is extremely bad form.
