The following information includes actions to be taken by Pickleball players on behalf of the Town of Lakeshore and the Atlas Tube Centre:
• Each participant will be responsible for implementing and following the guidelines below
• By reserving a court, participants accept the guidelines and will ensure the safety of other participants and our staff
• The return to play Pickleball should be considered a privilege as many other programs previously offered by the Town of Lakeshore have remain closed. Failure to comply will result in cancellation of play and could result in the closure of the facility for future access

Hours of Operation:
• Varies based on the day
• Session times are subject to change at the discretion of the Town of Lakeshore’s Recreation and Leisure Services Division
• All sessions of play are 2 hours in length
• Specific sessions:
o 7:00am-9:00am: Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday
o 10:00am-12:00pm: Monday-Friday
o 12:30pm-2:30pm: Monday-Friday
o 3:00pm-5:00pm: Monday-Friday
o 7:30pm-9:30pm: Wednesday

Fee to Participate:
• $3.75 per person per 2 hour session or purchase a non-expiring 10 Visit Pickleball Punch Pass for $33.75 (as per the 2020 Tariff of Fees)

Who Can Play Pickleball:
• Any adult (16 years+) can reserve court time
• Maximum 4 participants per court per 2 hour session plus 2 substitutes = 6 participants maximum per court x 4 courts = 24 participants maximum
• NOTE: not all groups of 4 will want additional substitutes, so actual total participants will be between 16-24 persons

Signage:
• Signage will be posted educating the public and staff regarding COVID restrictions

Cleaning:
• Sharing of personal items or equipment (ie. chairs, towels, paddles, balls, etc.) is not allowed
• Each player should bring their own equipment:
o Balls should be clearly marked to identify them uniquely
o Players will only serve and touch their own ball. When another player’s ball needs to be returned to them, it will be rolled or hit to them with a paddle, without touching the ball in any way
o Balls should be disinfected in between games and should not be shared among players. Players are to remove their own balls from the playing area at the end of each game
• Door handles, washrooms, and touch points will be cleaned/disinfected a minimum of 2 times per day

Court Booking Process:
• To encourage fair play and equal access to allow as many members of the public as possible the opportunity to play:
o Participants will be allowed to play only 2 hours per day (1 time slot)
o Participants can book the court for the same day/time for a maximum of 1 month in advance, AND, may only have 2 of these reservations per group (ie. Monday AND Wednesday at the same time)
• Payment will be received when each participant enters the facility to play
• Should a participant miss their scheduled playing time 3 times, they will not be permitted to book further time

Facility ENTRY Process:
• Participants will be allowed entry to the facility 15 minutes prior to their scheduled playing time
• Players should bring their own water and hand sanitizer or disinfecting wipes to clean hands frequently. Hand sanitizing is required upon entry/exit of the building
• Lakeshore staff will screen participants at the Front Desk prior to entering the Gymnasium area to ensure they do not have COVID-19 symptoms by asking them if they have read and abide by the “Members of the public” COVID screening document provided by Human Resources and/or fill out the online questionnaire as per the link provided below:
o https://www.lakeshore.ca/en/living-here/novel-coronavirus-covid-19.aspx#COVID-19-Screening-for-Members-of-the-Public
• Participants will arrive to play Pickleball in their Pickleball attire as dressing rooms will closed and not available at any time during their session. NOTE: Washroom use will be the washrooms next to the Library
• Participants will be required to wear a mask as they enter the facility and while they wait outside the Gymnasium for their playing time to begin
• Participants will NOT have to wear a mask while playing Pickleball, but should wear a mask if they are waiting to re-enter the court as a substitute inside the Gymnasium
• Substitutes waiting to play will be required to sit on chairs that are a socially distanced against the wall at the ends of each court
• Participants MUST play with the group of players that are scheduled on their court only, and cannot move from one court to another to play with different participants during their scheduled time

Additional Considerations:
• Front Desk staff will record the name and phone number of each participant on a contact tracing sheet as well as time in and responses to the municipality’s online safety questionnaire
• Once the above information has been provided, and payment has been received, Front Desk staff will direct each participant to the waiting area outside the south Gymnasium doors using the provided socially distanced chairs until their playing session begins
• Participants will leave their personal items such as jackets, shoes, etc. in the hallway outside the Gymnasium while playing
• Participants must always be 2 metres (6 feet) apart while waiting for playing time, during play, substitutions and celebrations (ie. No high fives, hugs or handshakes)
• Staff will monitor the Gymnasium usage in-person to ensure protocols are being followed

Facility EXIT Process:
• Once the participants are notified that each session has ended, play it to stop immediately regardless of the score of the game and all participants are to exit the Gymnasium through the south doors once they have gathered their personal items from the hallway
• NOTE: As we have scheduled only a 30 minute cleaning window between sessions, to allow for more Pickleball playing time over the course of each day, we expect that all participants will follow these rules to allow as many players as possible to enjoy the ATC courts
• Participants will not use the dressing rooms to change; they will leave in the same Pickleball attire as they arrived in
• Participants will leave immediately and directly out of the facility through the Library exit doors

Weekly Review:
• The above processes and procedures will be reviewed weekly by Recreation Management staff to address changes, concerns and suggestions

I am a Senior looking to play Mon, Thurs or Fri. I have played at Atlas Tube last year before COVID. Not a serious player, but I try my best. I can be called on short notice as I only live 5 minutes away. Ray 727-6929.
