Good morning everyone,
CONGRATULATIONS to Marv Hoffman for taking 1st Place in the Nov./Dec. Power League with a total of 290 points out of a possible 330 points! Finishing up in 2nd place was Craig Loos with 279 points and in 3rd place Eric Sweigart with 277 points!
The recreational leagues final night is this Wednesday. Registration for next years leagues is continuing and some of them are almost full. If you wish to register for any of the leagues go to the link below.

2yGood afternoon everyone,
Well pickleball continues to be the fastest growing sport in America and that certainly is true if you look at the growing numbers of players at Discovery School. There is now paper calendars with December hours at the reception desk for you take home. As you will see there are a lot more pickleball hours during the Christmas break.
If you are a Silver Sneakers member please be sure to swipe your card and sign in. If you do not want to pay $3 every day you drop-in to play you can purchase a monthly pass for $24 by calling the Community Ed office at (phone hidden). If you plan on playing over 8 times per month you will save money by purchasing a monthly pass.
Sign up begins on Friday Dec. 1st at 9 am, for the Recreational and Power Leagues that start in January, February, March and April. There will be 2 Recreational leagues on Wednesday nights and one Power league on Monday nights. Only 16 players will be allowed in each league so don't procrastinate and miss out on the fun!

2yGood afternoon Pickleballer's,
Just a reminder of the weekend hours for indoor pickleball play at Discovery school are Saturdays 8 am - 3 pm and Sundays noon- 3 pm.
Also, there are only 3 spots open for the Wed. night Recreational Pickleball Leagues which plays on Wed evenings, will begin on October 11th and run for 5 weeks. These leagues are for the recreational player only, that are just starting out and are not proficient at all the shots and strategies in playing the game of pickleball. A great way to meet new friends!
We also still have 3 spots open for the Power Pickleball League which plays on Monday evenings and starts on October 16th and runs for 5 weeks. This league is for players that are ranked at 3.5 and above.

Fall pickleball hours at Discovery School starting September 5th are Mondays - Fridays 11:35am-1pm, Saturdays 8am - 3pm and Sundays noon - 3 pm.
Hours are subject to change, so be sure to check the Event calendar for any changes.

The drop-in open play hours that were scheduled for Thursday Aug. 24th , Tuesday Aug. 29th and Thursday August 31st have been canceled do to school activities.
This means there will be no scheduled hours for pickleball until after Labor Day.

What great weather for outside pickleball! But if you would like a break from the heat, wind and sun be sure to take advantage of Discovery's open play times on Tuesdays and Thursday 4:15-7:30 pm.
Starting on Monday July 10th there will be 3 courts available for drop-in every Monday night 5-7;30 pm through July. The Latter league is playing on the other 3 courts those nights so we are there anyway.
Please spread the word about this network so we can keep all pickleball players up to date on the happenings at Discovery.

Just a reminder tonight will be the first night of matches for the Summer Pickleball Latter at Discovery. All matches are scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm. Since we only have 14 players signed up we will have 12 players scheduled with matches each night so everyone will get a 1 bye during the season. On your bye night you are welcome invite a friend or two to come in and hit on one of the other courts since we will only be using 3 courts each night. Also we may need a sub someone doesn't show up so you could fill in if needed.
Bryce and I have our byes tonight so if you can't make it let one of us know and we could fill in.
