Registration
Description
The Open Division is geared towards advanced pickleball play. The League will fill teams via a draft process. Only 24 players will be drafted. If you are not drafted you will not be able to play in this division. The top players in the draft will be called upon to be a team drafter (pick players).
If you are drafted, payment will be required within 48 hours of the draft notification email. If you do not make payment, you will lose your spot on the team that drafted you.
Season: September 9 - November 20
Team Size: 4 members. Only 4 team members play per event.
Format: 6 matches per night, Doubles (4) - Best 2 out 3 games. Singles (2) - one game rally scoring to 21.
Subs: 2 designated alternates. Alternates can only register with 1 team. Alternates can play in another league.
DUPR: Recorded
Location: Legion Stadium, Monday Nights. Playoffs @ The HOP*.
Timing: Matches may either be from 6:30-8:30PM or 7:30-9:30PM.
Cost: $40
Understanding the division standings
Game Point - A Point won during a game played during an event night.
Game Points - The total number of game points a team won during an event night.
Match Win - Winning a matchup during an event night. 1 Match Win = 1 Match Point.
Match Wins - The total number of matchups won during an event night.
Team Wins - The team with the most Match Points during a given event night receives = 1 Team Win
Team Wins is most important
Event Scoring
Match Win = 1 Match Point
Match Loss = 0 Match Points
The team with the most Match Points during a given event night receives = 1 Team Win
if the score is tied after all matches, the most Game Points won during a night will determine who gets the Team Win.
Season Scoring
Most Team Wins, will be the top seed in the playoffs.
If there is a tie in Team Wins, the team with the most Match Points will be the winner.
If there is still a tie, head to head record will determine the winner.
If there is still a tie, head to head Game Points will determine the winner.
The Team that finishes first in the playoffs will be the league winner.
Fall Season Prizes
Team Prize - The team that finishes first will receive a 2025 membership to cape fear pickleball club.
Player Prize – The top player will receive a $100 gift card to pickleball central. The top player is the player who attends the most events per season (including playoffs). If there is a tie, player win percentage will be the tiebreaker.
