We'd like to give a warm welcome and thank you to The Third Shot Pickleball Apparel for supporting the Global Pickleball Network.
The Third Shot is a U.S.-based pickleball apparel company created by players who were tired of the same old clip-art tees and uninspired designs. Every shirt we make is designed, printed, and shipped in the U.S.A., using premium fabrics that look and feel as good off the court as they perform on it.
Hi: I've seen people play pickleball at Gabriel Park and other locations in SW Portland. It looks like fun and I'd like to give it a try. I used to play recreational tennis a long time ago so I'm familiar with racket sports, however, I don't have any pickleball equipment.
Hey, Dan! I played years ago & have recently picked up the game again. I have paddles & balls. I would love to introduce you to the game. If you played tennis, you'll pick this up in about three minutes. I'm in southwest, myself. Where is Gabriel park? Lemme know if you wanna give it a go.
Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like fun. Gabriel Park is basically in the middle of SW Portland. My hunch is that courts are more likely available Monday through Friday.
What days /times work best for you?
Do you know of courts that are likely to be available near you?
Also, it's been just about 2 weeks since my 1st Pfizer dose.
Hi, Dan. I'm basically free all day every day Monday through Thursday. Maybe we could set something up for next week. Lemme give you my email - just more convenient.
(email hidden). I can't wait to play & to see how far my cardio is from where it needs to be! Talk to you soon.
John
Hello. I am totally a beginner. Is there anywhere in Portland where someone can go after 4:00pm on weekdays and on the weekend to watch, take a few lessons and play? I live in the Fountain area in downtown Portland.
Thank you
PDX Pickle Ball is a group that plays on the courts in Sellwood Park. There are so many beginners that have come together to form a group called Fresh Picks. We have an app on our phones to schedule play during the week. We often play on Tues and Thurs 4-6 PM. I would suggest that you go to the courts at that time to pick up a game or watch. You can get to know people and possibly join our group, if you like. Drive down Macadam to the Sellwood Bridge. After you cross it go to the first light and turn left. Turn left at the next corner and that will take you to the little old white church on the corner. Turn right there and park. Walk to the end of that street and enter the park. The PB courts will be straight ahead and on your left. Good luck. Hope to see you there!
That sounds great! Thank you for the information. I'll plan on swinging by. I'm limited on activity right now do to minor knee surgery, but just watching would be helpful.
Hello! I am totally brand new to Pickleball and really want to try it out. I'm fairly athletic and well-coordinated. Would relish the opportunity to play a match with someone who might be patient enough to go over the rules and show me a few basic techniques. Thank you!

Not every Vancouver PB venue is on Play Time Scheduler. For indoor play Club Green Meadows has 17 indoor courts available for 14 hours a day which is rarely reflected on PTS or the GPN. You must be a member or guest of a member.
We have two indoor pickleball courts available for rent in Portland, OR and have some pickleball lesson sign-ups happening for those who need some extra help or just want to freshen up their skills! Tell your friends! Check us out at https://happylucky.com/now-serving to register or to reach out for private rentals. We would love to host you!
