We'd like to give a warm welcome and thank you to The Third Shot Pickleball Apparel for supporting the Global Pickleball Network.
The Third Shot is a U.S.-based pickleball apparel company created by players who were tired of the same old clip-art tees and uninspired designs. Every shirt we make is designed, printed, and shipped in the U.S.A., using premium fabrics that look and feel as good off the court as they perform on it.
Hello everyone. I'm brand new to pickleball and have only played one time about 3 months ago. To be honest I'm not sure where to start with all of this. I live in Mesa, AZ. Are there leagues to join? Maybe courts where I can go to sit and watch/wait for a pick up game? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you!
I am looking for a pickleball partner to drill with early Thursday mornings from 6am-7 am at Horizon Park in an effort to reduce my unforced errors. My game plan for drills is listed below.
0:00 – 0:10 | Warm-Up (10 minutes)
• Mini-dinks: Start at the kitchen, warm up soft dinks cross-court and straight on (2–3 minutes each).
0:10 – 0:20 | Dinking Consistency Drill (10 minutes)
• Cross-Court Dinks (5 minutes each side):
o Set a target number (15–20 in a row). Reset if missed.
0:20 – 0:30 | Third Shot Drop Drill (10 minutes)
• One serves, one returns.
• Server hits a third shot drop into the kitchen, then both move to NVZ and play out point only using dinks.
• Rotate every 5 serves.
? Focus: drop height over perfection—clear the net with margin.
________________________________________
0:30 – 0:40 | Reset & Block Drill (10 minutes)
• Player A at baseline, Player B at NVZ.
• Player A drives medium-paced balls at Player B.
• Player B practices soft resets into the kitchen, absorbing speed.
• Switch roles after 5 minutes.
? Goal: quiet hands, soft blocks, no pop-ups.
________________________________________
0:40 – 0:50 | No-Volley Game (10 minutes)
• Play points where no volleys are allowed—every ball must bounce.
• This forces consistency with dinks, drops, and resets.
? Improves patience and high-percentage shot-making.

I'm just getting back into pickleball after back surgery. I'm looking for a group/location to help me return to form and some league play. I'm in the central Scottsdale area.
I recently moved to the Phoenix area near the I17 and Glendale Ave. In looking for outdoor places to play pick up. Most things seem located in the outskirts and I haven't found places that are me centralized in Phoenix. Any ideas or invites welcome!!
Sara, I use to live close to there unfortunately that's not a great area for pick up pickle ball games. I live about half an hour to the east of there now and there are 5 courts I have access to daily from 8 am to 8 pm they are not public but I'm happy to host you and if you have a partner them as well. Let me know
