We'd like to give a warm welcome and thank you to The Third Shot Pickleball Apparel for supporting the Global Pickleball Network.
The Third Shot is a U.S.-based pickleball apparel company created by players who were tired of the same old clip-art tees and uninspired designs. Every shirt we make is designed, printed, and shipped in the U.S.A., using premium fabrics that look and feel as good off the court as they perform on it.

Seeking 4.0+ play in Alexandria VA area...During the day working hours (7:30 AM - 3PM).
I consistently play 4.0+ but all traveling to other cities! I have only seen 4.0+ open play listed in the evenings in our DMV area. Only need 3+ more people to join at any of the open courts in our area. Open to play in a ladies group or mixed, any age. Just want to play with strategy, dinks, drops, controlled power drives and placement.
Thanks for any tips, times and courts.
Hello Everyone, I would love to start playing pickleball - any recommendations on how to get started, lessons, open play or activities events, etc. it would be appropriate for me to participate. Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. Thanks, Nick
Check out: Dill Dinkers, Dancel YMCA, The Meadowbrook Athletic Center (MAC), and the Howard County Pickleball Assoc. Lessons for new players are available at all of the above (not sure about the MAC).
Hi Nick,
Check out this link of local places to play on the Howard County Pickleball Association website: https://howardcountypickleball.org/places-to-play/local-places-to-play/ Suggestion: Copy this file since HCPA will be moving to a new website and reservation system very soon and this link will likely disappear.
The following organizations offer intro. PB classes: Dill Dinkers, Columbia Association, Howard County Recreation and Parks, the HO CO YMCA. All have schedules and costs on their respective websites.
A good place to start is at the North Laurel Community Center, 9411 Whiskey Bottom Road, Laurel, MD 20723. They have "Drop-In" Open Pickleball Monday: 9 AM - 2:30 PM / Wednesday: 9 AM-2:30 PM / Friday: 9 AM-2:30 PM and / Saturday 1-8 PM. If you are a Howard County resident over 50, it's free. However, you need to bring your paddle!
