As far as my coaching goes, I am a very supportive teacher to beginners and intermediate players in helping them to learn to play the game, improve their game where they need and give them the skills they require to play at a higher level.

Hi, my name is Mahlon and I’m addicted to pickleball! I grew up playing racquet sports like racquetball and ping pong and I’m a former college football player. I’ve been playing pickleball for over a year now and I’ve competed in 9 tournaments so far, with several gold and silvers medals to my credit. I have a patient teaching style, centered on sound fundamentals, and shot mechanics. I can help you avoid the mistakes many beginners make, and have you on the medal podium before know it!

I’ve been playing pickleball for 6+ years with a strong tennis background, and what started as a fun hobby quickly became something I really care about. With a lifelong background in racket sports, including tennis, table tennis, and a passion for pickleball, I combine my experience as a competitive 5.0-level pickleball medalist with three Division 1 tennis championships and a Southern California CIF semifinal appearance. I currently teach at Mulholland Hills Country Club and Mika's Tennis Academy and have previously worked as a Special Education instructor, Registered Behavior Therapist, Adaptive Skills Clinician, Mobility Trainer, and Physical Therapist Aide. I hold a Master's degree in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Biomechanics. My students have earned medals from the 2.5–4.5 levels and qualified for USA Pickleball Nationals.
